Trump announces he will not mention Biden by name in keynote speech on Day 4 of RNC 2024

Convention-goers spoke with ABC News Digital about what they are expecting to hear from Trump tonight as he accepts the nomination.

“Here’s where he lays out his ideas of what he’s going to do when he gets elected in November, and what he’s going to do for the next four years,” said delegate Adolpho Telles. “It’s exciting for all us.”

As Trump takes the stage to accept the Republican nomination, delegates expect a message of unity from him.

Telles added, “Given what happened on Saturday, to have that man standing in front of us today, it shows his strength. I mean, the guy’s outstanding.”

Several attendees said that after the attempted assassination attempt, they expect to hear about unity and see a different side of Trump.

“I expect to see a risen man, a man who has had an encounter, a transformative encounter, with the divine, with death and with God, and God won,” said delegate Minerva Diaz. “So I expect to see a transformed man who now is going to embrace all the people who love him, every person of every nation.”

“I am already hearing these messages of unity, these messages of hope, these messages of the principles that will bring us to that culmination of the unity,” said delegate Betty Chu.

“I’d like to hear how he’s going to continue to unify our country, as he’s been doing so well,” said one woman. “And I think he has given us the opportunity to bring back our country, and he’s going to tell us how he is going to do that.”

Another said she expects the stadium to be on “fire.”

In a surprising move, former President Donald Trump has announced that he will not mention his political rival, President Joe Biden, by name in his keynote speech on Day 4 of the Republican National Convention in 2024. This decision has sparked speculation and debate among political analysts and commentators.

Trump’s decision to avoid directly mentioning Biden by name is seen as a strategic move to shift the focus of his speech away from attacking his opponent and towards promoting his own agenda and vision for the future. By not engaging in direct attacks on Biden, Trump may be attempting to present himself as a unifying figure within the Republican Party and appeal to a broader base of voters.

Some political analysts believe that Trump’s decision to avoid mentioning Biden by name may also be a calculated move to avoid giving his opponent free publicity and attention. By not engaging in direct attacks, Trump may be attempting to deny Biden the opportunity to respond and defend himself, thereby controlling the narrative and dominating the conversation.

However, others argue that Trump’s decision to avoid mentioning Biden by name may be a sign of weakness or uncertainty about his ability to effectively criticize his opponent. By sidestepping direct attacks on Biden, Trump may be perceived as lacking confidence in his own arguments and unable to effectively challenge his opponent on the issues.

Overall, Trump’s decision to not mention Biden by name in his keynote speech on Day 4 of the RNC 2024 is a bold and strategic move that has sparked debate and speculation among political observers. Whether this decision will ultimately benefit or harm Trump’s campaign remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: all eyes will be on his speech as he lays out his vision for the future of the Republican Party.
