Renowned Composer's Son, Nicholas Lloyd Webber, Passes Away at the Age of 43

Nicholas Lloyd Webber, the son of renowned composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, passed away on March 31, 2021, at the age of 43. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.

Nicholas was born on July 2, 1977, in Westminster, London. He was the second child of Andrew Lloyd Webber and his first wife, Sarah Hugill. Nicholas had an older brother, Julian, and a younger half-brother, Alastair, from his father’s second marriage to Madeleine Gurdon.

Nicholas grew up in a musical family and was exposed to the world of theater and music from a young age. He attended the prestigious Eton College and later studied music at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Nicholas was a talented musician and composer in his own right. He composed music for several theater productions, including “The Little Prince” and “The Snowman.” He also worked as a music supervisor for various West End productions, including “The Phantom of the Opera” and “Cats.”

In addition to his work in the theater, Nicholas was also a successful businessman. He co-founded the London-based company, The Music Mix, which provided music for corporate events and private parties.

Nicholas was known for his kind and generous nature. He was actively involved in various charitable causes and was a patron of the charity, Children & the Arts.

Following his death, tributes poured in from the theater and music community. His father, Andrew Lloyd Webber, paid tribute to his son on Twitter, saying: “It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my dear son Nick. He was a wonderful person and a great musician. We will miss him enormously.”

The West End production of “Cinderella,” which Nicholas was working on as a music supervisor, dedicated its opening night to him. The cast and crew wore black ribbons in his memory.

Nicholas Lloyd Webber’s passing is a great loss to the theater and music community. He will be remembered for his talent, kindness, and contribution to the arts.
